EuropIA Institute envisions a world where artificial intelligence becomes a catalyst for creativity, cultural dialogue, and human connection. In that vision the WAIFF is more than a film festival, but a global scene where cinema, art, music, immersive experiences and emerging technologies converge to explore new forms of storytelling and creative expression. By bringing together filmmakers, artists, researchers, cultural institutions, universities, technology leaders, and creative industries from around the world, WAIFF fosters international collaboration while celebrating the diversity of cultures, perspectives, and imaginaries.
WAIFF’s ambition is to become the world leading international ecosystem for AI-powered creativity, connecting local initiatives through a common vision while inspiring the future of cinema, culture and the creative industries.
WAIFF 2027 : Positioning
By 2027, WAIFF will have evolved into one of the world’s largest international networks dedicated to AI, cinema, art, and culture. With more than fifteen countries actively involved across Europe, Asia, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa, WAIFF is no longer a single festival but a connected global movement that brings together creators, institutions, industries, and audiences through a shared artistic vision. Each international edition celebrates the cultural identity of its host country while contributing to a common event that promotes innovation, creativity, learning and intercultural dialogue. The Cannes flagship edition serves as the annual global gathering, bringing together the best projects, talents, partners, and award winners from the worldwide network. Through this unique international ecosystem, WAIFF positions itself as the leading global reference for AI-driven cinema and creative arts, connecting cultures, encouraging responsible innovation, and shaping the future of storytelling in the age of artificial intelligence.
WAIFF INTERNATIONAL : Roadmap 2026–2027
WAIFF continues its international expansion with a growing network of officially confirmed editions across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, and Africa. All the events listed below have been formally confirmed by their respective local organizing committees. While a few dates remain under final confirmation, preparations are actively progressing in every host country.
10–12 September 2026 — Berlin, Germany
The 2026 international season will open in Berlin with conferences, film screenings, networking events, and the official WAIFF Awards Ceremony.
30 October 2026 — Argentina
WAIFF Argentina is confirmed. The venue and operational framework will be finalized during the upcoming coordination meeting.
4 November 2026 — Istanbul, Türkiye
WAIFF Türkiye is confirmed and will bring together filmmakers, AI creators, innovators, and industry leaders for a full day of conferences, screenings, and networking.
24 November 2026 — London, United Kingdom
A major international WAIFF gathering will take place in London, bringing together global partners, cultural institutions, investors, filmmakers, AI innovators, sponsors, media representatives, and international organizations. The event will feature conferences, networking sessions, schowcases.
27–28 November 2026 — Maceió, Brazil
WAIFF Maceió is confirmed. The venue, program, and budget have been completed, and the project is progressing through Brazil’s Rouanet Law approval process.
November 2026 — Los Angeles, USA
Edition will be held in the prestigious Lucas Museum of Narrative Art, https://lucasmuseum.org/, opening a dynamic exchange between continents. The exact dates are the currently being finalized with the local organizing committee.
Late January 2027 — Jordan
WAIFF Jordan is confirmed. The organizing team is completing the final scheduling details.
February 2027 — Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire
WAIFF Côte d’Ivoire is confirmed, with the final dates to be announced shortly.
A SHARED VISION, A STRONGER GLOBAL MOVEMENT
Renewed International Commitments :
By renewing their licenses for 2027, Brazil, Korea, and Japan reaffirm their confidence in WAIFF’s vision and their commitment to building a shared global future. Beyond hosting national editions, they are expanding the festival through new events, regional partnerships, and neighboring countries, reinforcing WAIFF’s position as the leading international scene for AI and cinema.
Brazil Embraces the WAIFF Journey
Following the success of the inaugural edition,Carlos Guedes, Executive Director of UltraVioleta / Violeta TV,(Cebola for friends) renewed Brazil’s commitment to WAIFF through 2027, describing the festival as the beginning of a long-term journey connecting Brazilian talent with the international future of AI powered cinema.
Seoul, South Korea
Rooted in the spirit of 한 류 (Hallyu), the global flow of Korean creativity and cultural inspiration, WAIFF Korea proudly renews its commitment to the 2027 edition.
Under the leadership of Rika Hauschild, Director of WAIFF Korea, and Catalina Lee, the festival continues to strengthen Seoul role as a meeting place where culture, artificial intelligence and cinematic imagination create the stories of tomorrow. WAIFF Korea is planned for March 2027, with final scheduling currently in progress.
Japan
Since the beginning of the WAIFF journey, Ryoichi Wada and TOKYO EPIC have embraced the vision of the Road to Cannes as a bridge connecting local creativity with the international stage. Following the success of WAIFF Kyoto 2026, they have renewed their commitment to WAIFF 2027 with the ambition of establishing Tokyo as Japan’s next international showcase for AI cinema, strengthening Japan’s contribution to the global future of AI storytelling.
WAIFF China is scheduled for March 2027.
Building on the relationships and cooperation established during 2026, the project has entered its development phase with local partners.
Discussions on the host city, venue, and final dates are now progressing toward confirmation, paving the way for the first official WAIFF China edition and reinforcing WAIFF’s long-term commitment to one of the world’s leading ecosystems for artificial intelligence and creative innovation.
WAIFF China Development –2026 Highlights
The development of WAIFF China began with WAIFF’s participation in the AI Film Sub-Forum of the China International Intelligent Communication Forum in Wuxi, where international delegates met with Chinese institutions, AI companies, filmmakers, universities, and creative industry leaders to explore long-term cooperation.
The second milestone took place in Beijing, where the festival received extensive visibility through CCTV-6 and major Chinese media, introducing WAIFF’s international vision to a broad audience while strengthening relationships with cultural institutions, AI innovators, and film industry stakeholders.
These initiatives were further supported by leading Chinese technology companies, including MiniMax, CapCut (ByteDance), and other AI innovation partners, demonstrating growing confidence in WAIFF’s mission to connect cinema, artificial intelligence, education, and international cultural exchange.
World AI music festival :
EuropIA will unveil the World AI Music Festival (WAIMF) in Los Angeles, a new international event where music, artificial intelligence, and immersive entertainment converge to shape the future of musical creativity.
Developed under the direction of Fred Martin, WAIMF builds on the global success of the World AI Film Festival (WAIFF) to bring together artists, creators, startups, technology leaders, investors, and cultural institutions around three complementary pillars:
Stage – Showcasing pioneering live performances and AI-enhanced musical experiences.
Lab – Fostering experimentation, education, workshops, and creative collaboration between artists and emerging technologies.
Market – Creating business opportunities by connecting talent, innovation, and industry across the music, film, gaming, advertising, and entertainment sectors.
